Description.
This heritage apartment interior design Barcelona project is located near Plaça Tetuan and was created for an international client from Israel seeking a refined residence that would respect the building’s original architectural character while introducing a contemporary sense of understated luxury.
The design approach focused on preserving and highlighting the apartment’s authentic heritage elements, including the original hydraulic tile flooring and decorative wall moldings. These historic features were carefully restored and integrated into a modern interior language, creating a balanced dialogue between past and present.
Natural light is a defining component of the space. Large balcony doors allow abundant Mediterranean daylight to fill the interior, enhancing the atmosphere and amplifying the sense of openness. This effect is reinforced through a soft neutral palette, reflective surfaces, and carefully selected textiles that introduce warmth and subtle sophistication.
The final result is a cohesive interior that merges contemporary elegance with the enduring architectural identity of Barcelona, creating a sophisticated and livable space rooted in heritage and modern comfort.
Dining Area.
The dining area serves as a key visual focal point. Teal velvet chairs introduce depth and contrast, while a gold crystal chandelier adds a refined, sculptural presence. Together, these elements establish a composition that balances elegance with comfort and visual impact.
Living Area.
The Terrace.
The terrace extends the interior dining space into the outdoors, functioning as a natural continuation of the home. Light outdoor furniture, greenery, and a small water feature introduce freshness and a sense of serenity, reinforcing the connection between interior and exterior living.
